Professional Development
The most vital component to a student's success is their teacher. Educators need to be provided with several opportunities to learn how to implement scientifically based practices. The professional development experience should be interactive and geared towards the needs of the teachers' students. Opportunities include presentations, model lessons, analysis of assessments, and implementation of interventions. Specific training in Wilson Fundations K-3, Wilson Just Words, WRS level 1, and Orton Gillingham strategies are provided.
Tutoring

Each child receives a personalized learning plan utilizing the Orton-Gillingham Approach. Each lesson is individualized to your child and delivered in an explicit, multisensory approach. Instruction is both prescriptive and diagnostic to help your child reach their potential.

Assessments
A comprehensive assessment and analysis of your child's strengths and weaknesses will be provided in a digital file, including recommendations for intervention.
My goal is to serve individuals with reading difficulties such as dyslexia by providing a 1:1 learning experience tailored to target specific needs. Each child receives a personalized learning plan, utilizing an Orton Gillingham Approach. With an explicit plan to reach each individual's goals, your child will reach their potential.
DATA
Being both diagnostic and prescriptive is a key factor in delivering effective interventions that yield positive results. Below you will see the growth of a student over two years on the following assessments: The Core Phonics Survey, Words Their Way, and The WIST.

Additional Information
Initial Assessment
I offer a comprehensive initial assessment prior to starting any tutoring sessions. It is essential to gather data on an individual’s strengths and weaknesses, share results with families, set initial short term goals and long term goals. In addition, every child is unique; therefore the amount of time and frequency of sessions are recommended based on their needs.
All of this information is written up in a report and shared with you to look over and make a decision that is right for you and your family. The report is yours to keep without any obligation to start tutoring sessions.
Tutoring
All lessons are tailored to meet your child’s needs. They are explicitly delivered virtually or in-person to secure skills prior to moving ahead. All lessons follow an Orton Gillingham Approach of multisensory learning. A digital folder with every assessment, lesson plan, and material used is shared in a digital folder.
Wilson Reading System
The Wilson Reading System® (WRS) is the flagship program of Wilson Language Training® and the foundation of all other Wilson programs. WRS is an intensive Tier 3 program for students in grades 2-12 and adults with word-level deficits who are not making sufficient progress through their current intervention; have been unable to learn with other teaching strategies and require multisensory language instruction; or who require more intensive structured literacy instruction due to a language-based learning disability, such as dyslexia.

Orton Gillingham Approach
The Orton-Gillingham Approach is a direct, explicit, multisensory, structured, sequential, diagnostic, and prescriptive way to teach literacy when reading, writing, and spelling do not come easily to individuals, such as those with dyslexia. It is most properly understood and practiced as an approach, not a method, program, or system. In the hands of a well-trained and experienced instructor, it is a powerful tool of exceptional breadth, depth, and flexibility. https://www.ortonacademy.org/resources/what-is-the-orton-gillingham-approach/
